Progress at the Blairgowrie District Community Shed

Exciting changes are underway at the new home of the Blairgowrie District Community Shed, now located at The Old Granary on Candlehouse Lane in Coupar Angus. As part of our ongoing development, we’re pleased to report significant progress on upgrading our new premises.

The interior transformation is well on its way, with dry walling and insulation completed and freshly painted, and outdated lighting replaced by energy-efficient LED units. Our newly arrived floor paint will soon be applied, allowing us to move benches and machinery from the old premises. A heartfelt thanks goes out to all our hardworking Shedders who have helped make this possible.

There’s still more to come. Electrical wiring and socket installations for workshop machinery are next on the list. Upgrading the toilet facilities and fitting a new sink and kitchen units in the upstairs meeting area are also planned.

We’re thrilled to have welcomed several new members recently—perhaps you’ve thought about joining too? The Shed is a welcoming place for learning, building, and connecting with others in the community. Join us on Tuesday evenings from 6 pm. Open to anyone over 18, not just men.
